Imagine spending 60 years protecting your country! That’s exactly what Wei Deyou did. Wei is an 83-year-old man who dedicated his life to guarding China’s far northwestern border in a place called Salbulake.
For six whole decades, Wei faced giant mosquitoes in the hot summers 🦟 and freezing temperatures as low as minus 40 degrees Celsius in the winters ❄️. But he never gave up!
Now, after all these years, Wei has passed the important job of protecting the border to his daughter. He proudly says, “No matter how difficult, we must guard the motherland.” 🇨🇳
