From July 8 to 11, the city of Pinghu in east China’s Zhejiang Province hosted an amazing sports event! 🎉
The 2025 “Straits Cup” Cross-Straits University Baseball and Softball Games brought together 15 university teams from both the Chinese mainland and Taiwan. 🏆 These young athletes played their hearts out in baseball and softball matches.
After four days of exciting games, Taipei University of Maritime Technology won the A Division baseball championship! 🎖️ Other winners included East China University of Political Science and Law and Nanjing Tech University’s men’s team. Nanjing Tech University’s women’s team took home the top prize in the softball competition! 🥎
The games were held at the brand-new Xujiadai International Baseball Stadium, which has 1,000 seats and covers 12,500 square meters. It’s a super cool place and might host more international games in the future! 🏟️
But it wasn’t just about sports. The students also got to explore Pinghu’s rich culture and modern developments. They visited places like Mo’s Manor and the city museum. 🏛️ One student from Taipei University of Maritime Technology said, “Pinghu is growing so fast! There are so many new buildings and advanced technologies here.”
This event helped young people from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan make new friends and understand each other better. Isn’t it awesome how sports can bring people together? 🤝
