Did you know that cities around the world can become “sisters”? ππ It’s true! This means they make special friendships to share ideas, culture, and help each other grow.
Recently, China and five Central Asian countries celebrated a big milestone: they now have over 100 pairs of sister cities! π
At a special meeting called the second China-Central Asia Summit in Astana, Kazakhstan, many new friendships were formed. Cities and provinces in China, such as Shanghai, Hubei, Sichuan, Shaanxi, and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, partnered up with cities and regions in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan.
For example, Shanghai, one of China’s biggest cities, became sisters with Almaty, a major city in Kazakhstan. Also, Urumqi in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region made friends with Samarkand in Uzbekistan.
These new partnerships mean that the cities can work together on projects, share cultures, and help each other. It’s like making a new best friend! π€
With these new sister cities, China and the Central Asian countries are excited to work together more than ever. They hope to share ideas, trade goods, and learn from each other to make their cities better places to live for everyone.
Isn’t it cool how the world can come together like this? π
