HKUST Offers a New Home for Harvard’s International Students

Hey there! ๐ŸŒŸ Have you heard the news? There’s a big change happening for international students at Harvard University.

The US government has recently asked Harvard to stop enrolling international students and wants current international students to transfer to other schools. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

But don’t worry! The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is stepping in to help. On May 23, HKUST announced that they are welcoming all international students from Harvard to continue their studies in Hong Kong. How cool is that? ๐Ÿซโœจ

HKUST is offering to help these students with everything they need, like moving credits from Harvard, getting visas, and finding a place to live. They’ve even created a special team to make sure everything goes smoothly! ๐ŸŽ’โœˆ๏ธ๐Ÿ

Dr. Choi Yuk-lin, Hong Kong’s Secretary for Education, is also excited about this. She is encouraging students from all over the world to come study in the Hong Kong region. She said that they’re working with local universities to make it easy for students to join and are offering support with the Harvard Club of Hong Kong. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿค

Even China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Mao Ning, talked about it! She said that studying together helps both China and the US, and that it’s important not to mix politics with education. She wants to make sure students’ rights are protected. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐Ÿ“š

So, while it might be a tough time for international students at Harvard, it’s great to see HKUST and others offering a helping hand! ๐Ÿ‘โค๏ธ

What do you think about studying in Hong Kong? Would you like to visit or study there someday? ๐ŸŒ†๐ŸŒ‰
