The Beijing International Film Festival is showcasing 21 amazing Peking Opera films! That’s the most they’ve ever had! ๐ŸŽญโœจ

Some of these films are super famous, like “Farewell My Concubine“, “Havoc in Heaven“, and the classic “A River All Red“. These movies are a big deal in China’s culture! ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ

But wait, what’s Peking Opera? ๐Ÿค”

Peking Opera is a traditional Chinese theater style that mixes singing, dancing, acting, and even acrobatics! Imagine a show where the actors wear colorful costumes and makeup, and tell stories that have been around for centuries! ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ•บ

Yu Kuizhi, a famous Peking Opera performer, is one of the stars of “A River All Red“. He’s been performing for over 50 years! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ He said, “I hope these films can inspire future generations to love Peking Opera.” โค๏ธ

Yu started learning “A River All Red” when he was 39, and bringing it to the big screen was his dream come true! ๐ŸŒ  He believes that with modern movie techniques, they can share Peking Opera with the whole world! ๐ŸŒ

The China Film Corporation is also helping out by showing these films in 119 cinemas all over China! That’s a lot of places where people can enjoy this traditional art form. ๐ŸŽฅ๐Ÿข

Since 2011, artists and experts have been working together to make Peking Opera films. It’s called the “Beijing Opera Film Project“, and it’s been part of the film festival for 10 years in a row! ๐Ÿ“ฝ๏ธ๐ŸŽ‰
