Discovering China at a Special Event in Geneva! π
Hey everyone! Did you know that on April 15, over 300 people from 50 different countries came together in Geneva to celebrate the Chinese language and culture? It was an exciting event filled with fun videos, cool exhibitions, and amazing stories!
What’s Happening?
The event was called the United Nations Chinese Language Day and the 5th CMG Chinese Language Video Festival. It took place at the Palais des Nations, which is a big and important building where people from all over the world meet!
A Journey to China π
This year’s theme was “A Journey to China.” Friends from around the globe shared how they see China through their own eyes. They watched a special video called “On the Trail of the Chinese Dragon” that was translated using AI (that’s super-smart computers!). There was also a cool video about traveling in China with famous Chinese movies!
Special Messages
Mr. Shen Haixiong, the president of China Media Group (that’s like a big TV and radio company), talked about how China is full of energy and how important it is for people from different countries to understand each other. He invited everyone to come and explore China!
Ms. Tatiana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, said that the Chinese language is one of the oldest and helps people from different cultures talk to each other.
Sharing Stories and Having Fun π¬
Winners from previous video festivals shared their adventures and experiences traveling in China. They talked about the delicious food, beautiful places, and friendly people they met!
There were also awesome exhibitions where guests could learn more about Chinese culture, like traditional art and music.
Want to Join the Fun?
If you love making videos, you can still join this year’s video festival! Submissions are open until the end of May, and winners will be announced in June. Maybe your video could be the next big hit!
So, what do you think? Does exploring China sound exciting? Maybe one day you’ll get to visit and have your own adventure! π
