Legendary Heroine Mu Guiying Shines in Shadow Puppetry Exhibition in Beijing

🌟 Have you ever heard of Mu Guiying, the legendary heroine from ancient China? Over 1,000 years ago, during the Northern Song Dynasty, Mu Guiying became a symbol of bravery and intelligence. She’s a famous figure in Chinese tales, especially in the story called “Generals of the Yang Family Legends.”

Now, you can see her like never before! At the Nanchizi Museum in Beijing, there’s a special exhibition called “Dian Xi Yi Ben – Shadow Puppetry and Contemporary Art Exhibition.” Here, artists have transformed Mu Guiying into an amazing shadow puppet work.

The highlight is an artwork named “Peach Blossom Horse,” created by Wang Haiyan, a fourth-generation master of shadow puppetry. 🎭 This shadow puppet is huge—standing at 3.8 meters tall! It’s made using a special technique called hollowed-out paper cutting. Mu Guiying is shown wearing armor and holding a long spear, looking both heroic and powerful.

When light shines through the decorative windows onto the puppet, she looks even more majestic and magnificent. It’s like she comes to life! ✨

If you’re interested in legends, art, or just want to see something really cool, this exhibition is a must-see. It brings together traditional Chinese art with stories of heroes from the past.
