Guess what? During the 2025 Spring Festival in China, people made over 9 billion trips! 😲 That’s like everyone on Earth traveling more than once!
The Spring Festival, also known as Chinese New Year, is the biggest holiday in China. It’s a time when families get together, just like Christmas or Thanksgiving in other countries. This year, the travel rush lasted for 40 days, from January 14 to February 22.
Here are some amazing numbers:
- 🛤️ 513.6 million people traveled by train.
- 🚌 8.39 billion trips were made by bus and car on highways!
- 🚢 31.15 million people went by boat.
- ✈️ 90.19 million passengers flew in airplanes.
Why so many trips? Well, the Lunar New Year’s Eve came earlier this year, and the holidays were longer. Many people started traveling sooner to visit their families. Also, more people went on trips for fun, especially driving themselves! 🚗
There were two big peaks in travel after the holiday:
- On February 3, over 339 million trips were made in one day! 😮
- On February 13, more than 215 million trips happened.
These numbers show how big China’s travel gets during the Spring Festival. It’s the world’s largest annual human migration! Isn’t that incredible?
