In the ancient village of Xixinan, in Huangshan city, China, something magical happened! On December 26, 2024, people from the Netherlands and local villagers came together for a special fish lantern parade to celebrate the upcoming New Year.
What’s a fish lantern parade, you ask? Imagine colorful lanterns shaped like fish, lighting up the night as people dance and sing. It’s a traditional celebration in this area!
In 2023, Xixinan township became friends with a village called Giethoorn in the Netherlands. They decided to share their cultures, protect old traditions, and help more people learn about their villages.
So, visitors from the Netherlands traveled all the way to Xixinan to join the fun! Together with local people, they danced under sparkling fireworks, holding glowing fish lanterns. It was a night filled with joy, new friendships, and lots of laughter! 🎆
