Snow Adventures and Ping-Pong: How Kids from Taiwan and Mainland China Are Becoming Friends
Imagine traveling to a place where the world turns into a sparkling snow wonderland! ❄️ That’s exactly what a group of kids from Taiwan did when they visited Harbin, a city in Mainland China known for its amazing snow and ice festivals.
Building Snow Sculptures Together
Despite the chilly temperatures dropping to -15°C (brrr! 🥶), the warmth between the young visitors and their mainland friends was heartwarming. They visited Sun Island, also known as the “Urban Snow Village,” famous for its incredible snow sculptures.
Under the towering snow sculpture of the Great Wall, the kids picked up snow trowels and ice chisels to create their own snowy masterpieces. 🎨 It was a fun break from their usual routines and a chance to try something totally new!
Exploring New Places
“The northern landscape is incredibly beautiful,” one of the Taiwan students said with excitement. “It’s a completely different experience from Taiwan. I want to explore all three northeastern provinces!” 🌟
They weren’t just making art in the snow—they were making new friends and memories that would last a lifetime.
Ping-Pong and Baseball Fun
Just a couple of weeks earlier, kids from Mainland China visited Taiwan. Among them was Ma Long, a super famous table tennis champion who has won six Olympic gold medals! 🏓🥇
He played ping-pong with local students and even tried out baseball, one of Taiwan’s most popular sports. ⚾️ The kids lined up to get his autograph and snap selfies. Imagine meeting your sports hero in person!
Playing Together, Not Fighting
Hsiao Hsu-tsen, one of the organizers, said, “We should play ping-pong, not war.” And he’s right! When kids come together to play and have fun, they build friendships that can make the world a better place. 🤝
Why These Trips Matter
Since 2023, leaders like Ma Ying-jeou have been organizing these awesome exchanges. Kids from Taiwan have visited Mainland China three times, and kids from the mainland have visited Taiwan twice. 🌍
Through these trips, they get to experience different cultures, try new activities, and discover how much they have in common. It’s all about making friends, understanding each other, and having a blast!
Wrapping Up
Whether it’s carving snow sculptures or playing ping-pong, these fun activities are bringing kids from Taiwan and Mainland China closer together. And who knows? Maybe these friendships will help make the future brighter for everyone! 🌈
Would you like to visit a snowy wonderland or play sports in a new place? The world is full of amazing adventures just waiting for you! 🌎✨
