Wow, have you heard? China is facing some super hot weather right now! 🔥 Since the start of the flood season, temperatures have soared higher than ever before. The National Climate Center reported that heatwaves are arriving earlier and lasting longer than usual.
On average, there have been 8.5 hot days across the country—that’s the highest number ever for this time of year! 😮 The average temperature was also the second-highest on record. In fact, 45 national weather stations hit record-high temperatures. One place called Xingping in Shaanxi reached a scorching 43.1 degrees Celsius! 🌡️
Because of this extreme heat, on July 2, the National Disease Control and Prevention Administration and the China Meteorological Administration issued a high-temperature health risk warning—the first time they’ve ever done that! 🛑
China is working hard to deal with climate change. In recent years, the country released a national plan to build early warning systems for health risks related to the climate. This means they want to keep people safe when the weather gets extreme. 🌍💚
Stay cool and remember to drink plenty of water if it’s hot where you are! 💧
