China’s weather experts have issued a yellow alert for Typhoon Wipha. That means it’s time to be careful! The typhoon is expected to hit the coastal areas of Hainan and Guangdong provinces, bringing heavy rain and really strong winds.
Emergency Response!
The people in Hainan and Guangdong are getting ready. They’ve activated emergency responses to keep everyone safe. In Hainan, they started their Level IV emergency plan. In Guangdong, they’ve upgraded to Level II, which is even more serious!
When Will It Hit?
Typhoon Wipha is expected to make landfall between Sunday afternoon and night. That means it’s going to arrive soon! From now until July 22, places in Hainan will have lots of rain and wind.
Bridges and Boats on Hold 🚢
The famous Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, one of the longest sea bridges in the world, is closing early on Sunday to stay safe. Also, the Qiongzhou Strait, which is a busy waterway between Guangdong and Hainan, might stop all ship operations until July 22. So, boats and ships will stay in the harbor until the storm passes.

The cities are preparing for the storm. Haikou, the capital of Hainan, might have a lot of water on the streets because of the heavy rain. In Guangdong, people are getting ready for strong thunderstorms, big waves, and strong winds.
