Last Friday, around 80 experts and scholars gathered in Dalian City, in northeast China’s Liaoning Province. They came together to talk about the South China Sea and its future!
The South China Sea is a big area of ocean that many countries care about. It’s important because it’s full of fish π, has valuable resources, and many ships pass through it every day. But sometimes, there are disagreements about who owns parts of it.
At the conference, the experts discussed how to solve these disagreements. They believe that by working together, everyone can share the sea peacefully. They talked about laws, history, and how countries can cooperate.
Mr. Shan Hongjun, the president of Dalian Maritime University, said that it’s important for universities and thinkers to help protect the sea and share China’s ideas with the world π.
Another expert, Mr. Wu Shicun, explained that some people try to make China look like a “troublemaker” in the South China Sea. But he believes that China’s rights in the sea are based on solid history and laws.
The experts think that all countries involved should agree on rules, called a “Code of Conduct,” to keep the South China Sea peaceful and stable βοΈ.
At the end of the conference, Dalian Maritime University released a special report about China’s maritime laws. This report will help everyone understand more about the sea and how to protect it.
It’s great to see people working together to make the oceans a better place for everyone! ππ
