Hey everyone! Have you ever had a friend who said something about you that wasn’t true? That’s kind of what’s happening between China and Japan right now.
China is upset 🚫 with Japan because of something called a “defense white paper” 📄 that Japan released. This paper is like a big report where Japan talks about its plans to protect itself. But in this report, Japan said some things about China that China doesn’t agree with.
Japan called China “the biggest threat” 😮 and said China was trying to change things by force. They also made comments about Taiwan 🏝️, which is a very sensitive topic.
Mr. Jiang Bin, a spokesperson from China’s Ministry of National Defense 🛡️, spoke up. He said that Japan should remember history. A long time ago, during World War II 🌍🌟, Japan did some bad things that hurt many people in China and other countries in Asia.
Instead of remembering and learning from the past, China feels that Japan is building up its military again 💂♂️, spending more money on weapons, and making plans that worry its neighbors.
This year is important because it’s the 80th anniversary of the end of that war, and also the 80th anniversary of Taiwan returning to China after the war ended. China wants Japan to think carefully 🤔 about its actions and to work together to keep peace in the region ✌️.
It’s like when friends have disagreements. It’s important to talk things out and remember to be considerate of each other’s feelings!
