π Hey everyone! Guess what? The 12th World Games are just 30 days away! They’re coming to Chengdu, a beautiful city in southwest China’s Sichuan Province, from August 7 to 17. π
This time, the opening ceremony is going to be super special! Instead of a regular stadium, it will be held outdoors at the Tianfu International Convention Center. Cool, right? π³π’ The organizers wanted to keep things simple and showcase the city’s unique style.
The convention center wasn’t built just for the Games. It started being built in June 2020 and opened in 2021 as part of the city’s development. So they’re using an existing building to make the event eco-friendly! π±
Huang Peiling, the deputy chief director of the opening and closing ceremonies, said, “We used an existing building for an opening ceremony in an open area. Some of the spectators won’t sit inside, but on the grassland outside to watch the ceremony. I think that fits Chengdu’s characteristic.” π
There’s going to be a 15-minute artistic performance during the 90-minute show, and rehearsals have been going on since June. Can’t wait to see what they have planned! π
Are you excited? We sure are! Let the countdown begin! β³
