Seventeen people are missing after landslides near the China-Nepal border. The landslides happened near Gyirong Port in southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region.
Local authorities said that eleven people are missing on the Chinese side. On the Nepalese side, six Chinese construction workers are also missing.
Landslides happen when rocks and earth slide down a mountain or hillside. They can be caused by heavy rain or earthquakes. This can be very dangerous for people living or working nearby.
Rescue teams are working hard to find the missing people. We hope they are found safe and sound!
