In some parts of China, it’s been raining a lot! From June 28 to 29, heavy rains continued in many areas. Imagine rain so heavy that the streets look like rivers. Places like Huanghuai and the southwest regions had intense downpours.

At the same time, other parts of China are super hot! In the Jiangnan region, there’s a big heatwave. Cities like Zhejiang, Shanghai, and Fujian are sweating with temperatures over 37 degrees Celsius (that’s over 98 degrees Fahrenheit!). That’s like the hottest summer days!
What Is China Doing? 🏃♂️
Because of all this extreme weather, China has raised its emergency response level to be ready for anything. An emergency response is like when you and your friends plan what to do in case of an emergency, like having a fire drill at school.
China’s emergency response has four levels, with Level I being the most serious. When they activate Level I, it means everyone has to work together quickly! Rescue teams are sent out, supplies are moved to where they’re needed, and different groups coordinate to help people stay safe.
