China and the UK Join Forces to Protect Our Planet! 🌍🤝

On Thursday, smart people called financial experts from both countries met in London. They launched something exciting called the UK-China Nature and Biodiversity Finance Work Stream. This team is co-led by the Bank of China and Standard Chartered, two important banks. They want to create new ideas to help invest money in protecting our planet. The launch happened during a special event called “From Policy to Impact: A Global Perspective on the Current State of Sustainable Development.” That’s a long title, but it was a big meeting where more than 100 people came together! Fang Wenjian, who is the CEO of Bank of China (UK) Limited, said, “Green finance and sustainable development are becoming super important for the world’s growth and changing how finance works!” 📈💚

Charles Bowman, co-chair of the China-UK Green Finance Taskforce, said it’s the perfect time to do this. “We have to speed up how money moves around the world to tackle the climate crisis,” he said. “China and the UK are leading the way with their promises to become net-zero and invest in renewable energy!” ⚡🌞
