80 Years On: Artist’s Painting Honors Historic Victory 🎨

Did you know that this year marks the 80th anniversary of a very important victory in history? 🎉 In China, people are remembering the victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. These were times when many countries joined together to fight against aggression and protect peace.

A talented artist named Gu Xunming has been working hard for over ten years to recreate famous paintings that show important moments from the past. Recently, he showed his painting called “The Victory at Pingxingguan” in an exhibition in Beijing.

But what’s so special about the Battle of Pingxingguan? 🤔 Well, it was a significant battle during the war where Chinese soldiers bravely fought against the Japanese army. This victory helped them set up bases in northern China and continue their efforts to protect their country.

Gu Xunming based his painting on an original work by Sun Hao, a respected professor at the PLA (People’s Liberation Army) Academy of Arts. Sun Hao’s painting is so important that it’s kept in the National Art Museum of China!

While creating his painting, Gu found that using social media platforms like Xiaohongshu (which means Little Red Book) inspired him even more. 📱 He feels that these platforms give artists new ideas and ways to be creative.

Also, on Tuesday, China’s State Council Information Office announced that there will be special events to commemorate this 80th anniversary. One of the biggest events will be a military parade in Tiananmen Square on September 3rd. Many people are looking forward to this! 🎆
