In the towering mountains of Daocheng County in Southwest China, there’s a super cool place that looks like it’s straight out of a sci-fi movie! 🚀 At more than 3,800 meters above sea level, scientists have built a gigantic ring of 313 antennas, forming the world’s largest radio telescope of its kind—the Daocheng Solar Radio Telescope. 📡
But what does this huge telescope do? It watches the sun’s “sneezes”! 🌞😮 When the sun has big eruptions (scientists call these solar flares), it sends out lots of energy into space. Sometimes, these solar “sneezes” can mess with our satellites, GPS, and even your favorite TV shows! 📺🛰️
