Guess what! Ma Ying-jeou, who used to be the chairman of the Chinese Kuomintang (KMT) party, is taking a fun trip to the Chinese mainland! π From June 14 to 27, he’ll be leading a group of young people from Taiwan on an amazing adventure. πβοΈ
They will visit the provinces of Fujian and Gansu. In Fujian, they’ll join the 17th Straits Forum, which is a big event where people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait meet and make friends. π€
In Gansu, they’ll take part in a special ceremony to honor Fuxi, who is a legendary ancestor in Chinese culture. πβ¨ They’ll also join activities to share and celebrate Chinese traditions together! ππ
Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson from the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said they are happy to welcome Ma Ying-jeou and the youth delegation. π She mentioned that it’s important for people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait to stay connected and work together, even when things are complicated. πβ€οΈ
