This giant structure is called the central processing platform for Phase I of the Kenli 10-2 oilfield. Imagine a building as tall as a 7-story building (it’s 22.8 meters high)! And it weighs over 20,000 tonnes! That’s like 4,000 elephants! 🐘🐘🐘🐘
The platform isn’t just huge; it’s super smart too! During the installation, they used special BeiDou positioning systems with artificial intelligence. This helped them precisely place the platform in the sea without any bumps or crashes. 🚀🤖
They also used lots of tugboats working together to move this massive platform into place in just one try! How cool is that? 🚢🚢🚢
The Kenli 10-2 oilfield is located in the southern Bohai Sea, about 245 kilometers from the city of Tianjin. The water there is around 20 meters deep. This oilfield is super important because it’s the largest one found in China’s offshore areas so far, with over 100 million tonnes of proven oil reserves! 💧⛽
China has now completed 50 installations like this, with the biggest one being able to float over 32,000 tonnes! Their amazing technology and skills put them among the top countries in the world for offshore engineering! 🥇🌍
