Ahoy, Ocean Adventurers! π
Guess what? On World Oceans Day, China Media Group (CMG) launched an exciting new documentary series called “Sailing Toward the Sea”! π’ This is the first part of their amazing “Nature of China” series.
This documentary takes you on a fantastic journey along China’s enormous 18,000-kilometer coastline and even farther! From exploring deep-sea mysteries in the submersible Fendouzhe (which means “Striver”) to watching how people in Xiamen City are saving the endangered Chinese White Dolphins π¬, there’s so much to discover.
The filmmakers used super cool technology like aerial drones, underwater robots, and special animations to show you places under the sea that you’ve never seen before! You’ll get to see awesome ships like the Xuelong-2 icebreaker and the Mengxiang deep-sea drilling vessel. These help scientists learn more about our oceans.
But that’s not all! The series also talks about how important the ocean is to people’s lives. Did you know China’s marine economy is worth $10 trillion? That’s a lot of zeroes! The documentary shows how communities along the coast depend on the sea for work and how they are taking care of it.
Protecting the ocean is a big deal π. The documentary highlights how China is working hard to keep marine life safe and how it wants to help with global ocean issues. It’s all about making sure the ocean stays healthy for everyone.
Even if you’re not a scientist, don’t worry! The series explains cool things like tidal energy (that’s energy from waves!) and how deep-sea mining works in a way that’s easy to understand.
So, if you love the ocean and want to see some amazing underwater adventures, check out “Sailing Toward the Sea”! It’s a splash-tastic way to learn and have fun! π
