China Approves Its First 9-in-1 HPV Vaccine! 🎉

What’s Special About Cecolin 9?
Cecolin 9 is a new vaccine that can protect against nine different types of HPV! Before this, there were vaccines that protected against two types or four types, but nine types mean even more protection! 💪
This vaccine was made by smart scientists at Xiamen University and a company called Wantai BioPharm. They’ve been working hard since 2019, testing it with over 11,000 volunteers aged 9 to 45 all across China.
How Effective is It?
The results are amazing! The vaccine showed over 98% protection against long-lasting HPV infections and 100% protection against cervical infections. That’s almost perfect! 🌟
Good News for Girls and Young Women
For girls aged 9 to 17, only two doses of the vaccine are needed to build strong protection, just like the three doses needed for women aged 18 to 26. This makes it easier and faster to get protected! 😊

This achievement makes China the second country in the world, after the United States, to make its own nine-valent HPV vaccine. It’s a big step in the fight against cervical cancer, which was the fourth most common cancer among women worldwide in 2022.
