Scientists Join Forces to Help Our Planet π
Hey there! Have you ever wondered how we can make Earth a better place? Scientists from all over the world are coming together to find out! π
Recently, in Beijing, scientists held a big meeting called “Sustainable Development and Inclusive Collaboration: Responsibilities of the Scientific Community.” That’s a big title, but it means they’re working together to solve big problems like climate change, pollution, and not having enough food. πππ½οΈ
Dr. Hou Jianguo, the president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), said that many problems like bad weather, dirty air and water, not enough resources, and hunger are all connected. He believes that by working together, scientists can find new ways to solve these problems using cool new technologies like artificial intelligence! π€
The CAS is a group in the Chinese mainland that’s been working hard on things like protecting nature, helping people stay healthy, and finding new types of energy that are good for the Earth. They want to share their ideas and work with scientists from other countries too! π
Dr. Chennupati Jagadish, who leads the Australian Academy of Science, has been friends with Chinese scientists for 50 years! He says that when scientists from different places work together, amazing things can happen. π§ͺπ€
Scientists from Russia and other places agree. They think that by sharing ideas and helping each other, they can solve big problems that affect everyone. πΊοΈβ¨
Peter Gluckman, the president of the International Science Council, said that the CAS is a leader in science around the world. He loves that they care about science being something everyone can do together. π
Over 60 people came to the meeting, including important scientists from 14 different countries and regions! They all want to make the world a better place by sharing ideas and working together. Isn’t that awesome? πβ€οΈ
Who knows? Maybe one day you’ll become a scientist and help with these big problems too! What ideas do you have to make our planet better? π±π‘
