Small School, Big Joy: Kids Celebrate Together in Borderland Village

Have you ever heard of a school with just 13 students? In a little place called Wuying Miao Village, tucked away in the mountains along the border of China’s Guizhou and Guangxi provinces, students are proving that size doesn’t matter when it comes to fun and learning! 😊

On Wednesday, the children gathered to celebrate International Children’s Day with lots of exciting activities. Although their village is split between two provinces—with 104 households in Guangxi and 41 in Guizhou—the people here live, work, and play together as one big family. ❤️

The small school has only two classes: one for first graders with 7 students and one for second graders with 6 students. Eight of the children are from Guangxi and five are from Guizhou. Despite being small, the school offers all the subjects you’d expect, like Chinese, math, art, physical education, and health and safety.

But that’s not all! The students also learn about their local culture. They play the lusheng, which is a traditional reed-pipe instrument, and sing Miao folk songs. The Miao are one of China’s ethnic minority groups, and their music and traditions are very special. 🎵

The village’s united spirit shows that no matter where you come from, you can learn and have fun together. The children of Wuying Miao Village remind us that friendship and community are what truly make a place special.

So next time you think about what makes a school great, remember that it’s not the size of the building or the number of students, but the joy and unity shared among everyone there! 🌟
