Whoa! Talk about an adventure! Racers at the Taklimakan Rally in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region faced a big challenge on Wednesdayโa dust storm! ๐ฌ๏ธ๐ช๏ธ
The seventh stage of the rally, which was 82 kilometers long, became extra tricky because of all the dust. The drivers and riders had to slow down to stay safe. Imagine riding your bike or driving a car when you can hardly see ahead! ๐ฎ
But guess what? A super cool rider named Arunas Gelazninkas from Lithuania didn’t let the dust stop him! He zoomed through the dunes (that’s like big sandy hills) and won the stage in just 1 hour, 10 minutes, and 9 seconds! ๐ His teammate, Martin Michek from the Czech Republic, is still leading overall in the motorcycle category. How awesome is that?
In the car race, things are super close! Drivers like Liu Yangui, Fan Gaoxiang, and Tao Yongming are all racing neck and neck for the top spot. It’s anyone’s game! ๐๐จ
The winners of this stage in the car category were Zhu Guanghai and his navigator Chen Qingkai from the Duonai Shock Absorber Team. They finished in just 1 hour, 3 minutes, and 29 seconds! ๐
Now, the racers get to take a break on Thursday to rest up. Then, they’ll tackle the final challenges in Makit County, Kashgar Prefecture. Can’t wait to see who wins! ๐ฅ
Would you be brave enough to race through a dust storm? ๐ค
