China’s Shenzhou-20 Astronauts Complete First Spacewalk! ๐Ÿš€

Great news from space! ๐Ÿš€ China’s Shenzhou-20 astronauts have just completed their first spacewalk, also known as an Extravehicular Activity (EVA). This means they stepped outside their space station to work in the vastness of space! ๐ŸŒŒ

The three astronauts โ€“ Chen Dong, Chen Zhongrui, and Wang Jie โ€“ are aboard China’s orbiting space station. On Thursday, Chen Dong and Chen Zhongrui put on their special space suits and exited through the node cabin of the Tianhe core module. This was a big deal because it’s the first time astronauts have used the node cabin to go outside since the space station entered a new phase. ๐Ÿ›ฐ๏ธ

They worked for about eight hours, starting in the morning and finishing their tasks by 4:49 p.m. Beijing Time. That’s like working a full day at school but in space! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ With help from their team on Earth and Wang Jie inside the station, they installed a debris protection device. This device helps protect the space station from tiny pieces of space junk that zoom around in space. ๐ŸŒ

They also checked and fixed some equipment on the outside of the station. After finishing all their tasks, they safely returned inside the space station. Good job, astronauts! ๐Ÿ‘

Space missions like this help us learn more about space and how to live and work there. Who knows? Maybe one day you’ll be an astronaut too! ๐ŸŒŸ
