Meet Akul: The Indian Teen Learning Kung Fu in China!

πŸ‘‹ Hey everyone! Have you ever thought about learning martial arts? Well, meet Akul Malik, a student from India who did just that! Akul studies at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China, and his journey into the world of kung fu is super inspiring. πŸ‰

Akul had a taste of kung fu back home in India from a monk who trained in China. This sparked his curiosity, and he wanted to learn more! So, in the summer of 2024, he decided to go straight to the source. He spent two whole months at Fawang Temple in Dengfeng, which is in central China’s Henan Province, learning from Master Miaodu.

At first, Akul thought kung fu was just about cool moves and getting fit. πŸ’ͺ But guess what? He discovered it’s so much more! The training wasn’t just physical; it taught him about inner strength, mental toughness, and the philosophy behind kung fu. πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ

One of the toughest exercises was the horse stance. Imagine sitting in an invisible chair and holding that positionβ€”it really tests your limits! 🐴 But Akul pushed through, and it made him stronger both outside and inside.

What’s really cool is that Akul noticed similarities between Indian and Chinese cultures. Did you know both countries share a heritage of Buddhism? And India has its own martial art called Kalaripayattu! 🌏

After returning to Shanghai, Akul still practices the lessons he learned. He’s grateful for the experience and feels more connected to the world. 🌟 He says that while gym workouts shape your body, kung fu strengthens your spirit!

So, what do you think? Would you like to try kung fu or learn more about another culture? Maybe one day, you’ll have an adventure like Akul’s! πŸš€
