Hi everyone! 🌍 Have you heard about Israel and Palestine in the Middle East? They’ve been in conflict for many years, and lots of people want them to find peace.
On Thursday, Mr. Geng Shuang, who represents the Chinese mainland at the United Nations, spoke about this important issue. He said it’s time to work hard to create a lasting solution so both Israelis and Palestinians can live happily. This idea is called the two-State solution.
What does the two-State solution mean? It means creating two separate countries: one for Israelis and one for Palestinians. This way, both peoples can have their own homes and live side by side in peace. 🕊️
Mr. Geng talked about how, for 77 years, many Palestinian people have faced hardships. He mentioned that in Gaza, over 53,000 people have lost their lives, and many are living without enough food, water, or safety. 🏘️🚰
He also said that building new settlements in certain areas is making peace harder to achieve. He asked everyone to stop actions that make the conflict worse.
The Chinese mainland wants all countries to help bring peace to this region. By working together, we can hope for a brighter future where both Israelis and Palestinians can live peacefully. ✨
Mr. Geng said, “China will continue to work tirelessly with all peace-loving countries to promote the two-State solution and to realize a comprehensive, just, and lasting solution to the question of Palestine at an early date.”
