Hey sports fans! 🏃♂️🏆 Guess what happened at the big athletics competition in Shaoxing, China? Two amazing athletes from China, Shi Yuhao and Shu Heng, soared through the air in the men’s long jump! 🌟
Shi Yuhao jumped an incredible 8.21 meters to win the gold medal! That’s like jumping over four cars parked end to end! 🚗🚗🚗🚗 Shu Heng was right behind him, grabbing the silver medal with a personal best of 8.18 meters. How cool is that? 😎
But the excitement didn’t stop there! Wayne Pinnock from Jamaica took home the bronze medal with a jump of 8.10 meters. Great job, everyone! 🎉
In the men’s triple jump, Zhu Yaming from China hopped, skipped, and jumped his way to a bronze medal with a leap of 16.92 meters. He said he’s not done yet and wants to keep improving. “I’m almost 31, but I feel like I’m 24 or 25!” he said. “There’s still so much I can do!” 💪
Chinese javelin thrower Dai Qianqian also threw her way to a silver medal with a personal best of 64.38 meters. That’s more than half a football field! 🏈
One of the most exciting moments was when Cordell Tinch from the USA ran super fast in the men’s 110-meter hurdles. He finished in just 12.87 seconds, breaking a record set by China’s famous hurdler Liu Xiang back in 2012! 🥇 He said, “I just want to keep getting better each week!”
Swedish pole vaulter Armand Duplantis, known as “Mondo,” vaulted over 6.11 meters to win his event. That’s higher than a two-story building! 🏢 Even though he tried to break his own world record, he said he’ll keep training and try again next time. 🌠
Other amazing athletes included Karsten Warholm from Norway, who won the men’s 400m hurdles, and Grace Stark from the USA, who won the women’s 100m hurdles. Tsige Duguma from Ethiopia ran super fast to win the women’s 800m race! 🏃♀️💨
