Why Are China and Japan Arguing Over an Island? 🏝️
Hi everyone! Have you ever heard of Diaoyu Dao? It’s a small group of islands in the sea between China and Japan. Recently, there’s been some tense moments between the two countries because of these islands.

A Japanese civilian airplane flew into the airspace over Diaoyu Dao. China says that this is part of their territory. They were not happy about this and told Japan that it was a serious problem.

China’s Ambassador to Japan, Mr. Wu Jianghao, spoke to Japan’s Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Takehiro Funakoshi. He told him that China was very unhappy about the airplane flying over Diaoyu Dao without permission.
China took action by warning the airplane and asking it to leave the area. They also asked Japan to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
