Hey there! π Did you know that China is doing amazing things to help our planet? Let’s find out how they’re using clean energy like solar and wind power to make the Earth a better place! π
Earth Day: Protecting Our Planet
Every year on April 22, people around the world celebrate Earth Day. In 2025, the theme was “Our Power, Our Planet”, which means we need to change the way we use energy to protect our environment. β»οΈ
China’s Big Achievements
China has been working super hard to use more clean energy! By the end of 2024, they had about 890 gigawatts of solar power and 520 gigawatts of wind power. ππ¬οΈ
Guess what? They reached their goal for 2030 six years early! π Thatβs like finishing your homework way before it’s due. π
Why Clean Energy is Cool
Clean energy, like solar and wind power, is awesome because it doesn’t pollute the air. It’s also plentiful and helps countries not have to buy energy from others. Plus, in China, they use over 95% of the clean energy they produce, which is super efficient! β‘
Helping Big Cities
In places like Jiangsu Province in China, they use special technologies to bring clean energy from huge hydropower stations, like the Three Gorges Dam. So far, they’ve sent over 700 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity to Jiangsu! That’s a LOT of energy! π‘
This has helped reduce carbon dioxide emissions by over 600 million tonnes. Imagine taking about 170 million cars off the road for a yearβthat’s how much pollution they’ve saved! πβ
Working with Other Countries
China isn’t just keeping all this clean energy goodness to themselves. In 2024, they agreed to help Saudi Arabia build a giant solar power plant. π Theyβre also teaming up with Denmark to work on climate action and energy projects.
In Africa, China plans to start 30 clean energy projects and provide lots of support to help those countries grow green energy. πΏ
Making the World Greener Together
All these efforts show that China is serious about protecting the Earth. By using more clean energy and helping other countries do the same, they’re making a big difference! π
Remember, every little bit helps. Maybe you can talk to your family and friends about how to save energy and protect our planet too! π
