Guess what just happened in Beijing? ๐ค Robots ran a half-marathon! Yes, you read that right! ๐ค๐โโ๏ธ
This weekend, over 9,000 runners took part in the world’s first humanoid robot half-marathon in Beijing. Alongside them were humanoid robots from nearly 20 robotics companies! How cool is that?
The star of the show was Tiangong Ultra, a humanoid robot developed by the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center. It completed the 21.0975-kilometer race in just 2 hours, 40 minutes, and 42 seconds! That’s faster than some human runners! ๐ฒ
Ren Yawei from the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center shared that Tiangong Ultra only had to swap batteries three times during the race. Talk about endurance!
Coming in second was N2, a shorter robot developed by the startup Noetix. Third place went to “Xingzhe-2” from the Shanghai-based company DroidUp.
This amazing event shows how fast technology is advancing. Who knows? Maybe one day, robots and humans will be teammates in sports! What do you think about running alongside a robot? ๐ค๐โโ๏ธ
