Hey movie lovers! Guess what? Beijing is hosting a super cool event called the Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF)! From April 18 to April 26, filmmakers and movie stars from all over the world are gathering to celebrate cinema. 🌍🎥

One of the exciting parts of the festival is the Tiantan Award. It’s like the Oscars of Beijing! 🏆 Fifteen awesome films are competing in categories like Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Actress. A group of seven famous judges will decide who wins.

The head of the jury is Jiang Wen, a famous Chinese director and actor. Other judges include:

  • Joan Chen, a Chinese American actress and director
  • David Yates, a British director (he directed some Harry Potter movies!) 🧙‍♂️
  • Ni Ni, a talented Chinese actress
  • Teemu Nikki, a director from Finland
  • Vincent Perez, a Swiss actor and director
  • Tim Yip, an art director from Hong Kong

But that’s not all! Over 300 films will be shown across 33 cinemas in Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei. 🍿 The “Beijing Screening” section will have about 900 screenings! You’ll get to see global masterpieces, classic movies that have been restored, and cool new films from up-and-coming Chinese filmmakers.

So if you love movies, this is the place to be! Grab some popcorn and enjoy the show! 🎬🍿
