Hey basketball fans! 🏀 Get ready to relive an incredible game from the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) Playoffs! The Liaoning Flying Leopards soared to a thrilling 123-116 overtime win against the Xinjiang Flying Tigers in Game 1 of their quarterfinal series on Sunday.
Zhao Jiwei, Liaoning’s amazing guard, was on fire! He scored a whopping 33 points, making eight three-pointers. That’s like shooting from really far away and still making the basket! 🎯 His teammates Dez Wells and Cameron Oliver also shined, adding 29 and 20 points. Wells even made a super important three-pointer that tied the game and sent it into overtime! 😮
The game was super close. The Flying Tigers had four players scoring over 20 points! Dedric Lawson led his team with 32 points and 13 rebounds (that’s when you grab the ball after a missed shot). The action was intense from the start! The Flying Tigers took an early lead, but the Flying Leopards quickly caught up. By the end of the first quarter, Liaoning was ahead 30-19. But Xinjiang didn’t give up! They fought back, and by the fourth quarter, the game was neck and neck.
With just seconds left, Xinjiang was leading 109-106. But then, in an epic moment, Wells nailed a three-pointer (from the corner!) to tie the game at 111-111. The crowd went wild! 🤩
In overtime, Liaoning pulled ahead. Zhao Jiwei made a fantastic pass to Zhang Zhenlin, who hit a three-pointer to seal the deal! 🏆 The defending champions started their playoffs journey with an unforgettable victory.
