Hey basketball fans! π Have you heard the exciting news from the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA)? The Guangdong Southern Tigers just had an amazing win against the Shanghai Sharks, and they’re moving on to the quarterfinals!
The game was super intense! The Tigers beat the Sharks 115-92 at their home court in Dongguan, in the Chinese mainland’s Guangdong Province. This victory means the Tigers have never missed a quarterfinal in the CBA postseason! π
Some of the star players were Xu Jie, Hu Mingxuan, and Darius Bazley. They each scored over 20 points! Xu Jie was on fire, also making 11 assistsβthat’s when a player passes the ball to a teammate who then scores. Pretty cool, right?
The game started with the Sharks ahead, leading 21-13. But the Tigers didn’t give up! π― Bazley, Hu, and their teammate Ren led a super exciting 11-0 run, ending the first quarter ahead at 37-26.
In the second quarter, Xu and Bazley kept pushing hard. They made awesome shots from up close and far away (that’s what we call “charging the rim” and “firing from downtown”). They helped the Tigers increase their lead to 59-40. Even though the Sharks’ players Kenneth Lofton Jr. and Huang Rongyi tried their best, the Tigers were unstoppable!
The game got a bit rough in the third quarter. Ren was ejected (that means he had to leave the game) for throwing a punch at Wang Zhelin. Remember, it’s important to play fair and keep calm, even when games get intense.
Without Wang, who got injured, the Sharks couldn’t catch up in the final quarter. The Tigers secured a big win at home and are now set to face the Shanxi Loongs next. How exciting! π
Here’s what the quarterfinals look like:
- Liaoning Flying Leopards vs. Xinjiang Flying Tigers
- Guangsha Lions vs. Qingdao Eagles
- Beijing Ducks vs. Beikong Royal Fighters
- Shanxi Loongs vs. Guangdong Southern Tigers
Who do you think will win in the next round? Stay tuned for more awesome basketball action! ππ₯
