Hey badminton fans! ๐ธ Exciting news from Ningbo, east China’s Zhejiang Province! On Friday, China’s Chen Yufei showed incredible skill as she defeated Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi in a thrilling match at the Badminton Asia Championships! ๐
Chen Yufei, one of China’s top badminton stars, faced a tough first game against Akane Yamaguchi, the 2019 champion. The score was super close, but Chen pulled through to win 21-19! ๐ฎ
In the second game, Chen took charge with amazing shots and quick moves, winning 21-13. With this victory, she’s soaring into the semifinals! Go Chen! ๐๐
But the excitement doesn’t stop there! In the men’s singles, China’s world No. 1 Shi Yuqi had a nail-biting match against Singapore’s Loh Kean Yew. Shi lost the first game 19-21 but fought back to win the second 21-13. However, Loh took control in the final game, winning 21-16. What an intense match! ๐ฒ
In the women’s doubles, the awesome duo Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan, who are Olympic gold medalists, defeated fellow Chinese players Li Yijing and Luo Xumin with scores of 21-12 and 21-15. They’re now also in the semifinals! ๐
The men’s doubles team of Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang made it to the last four by beating Indonesia’s Muhammad Shohibul and Daniel Marthin in two tight games, both ending 21-19. Way to go! ๐
Lastly, in mixed doubles, China’s top seeds Jiang Zhenbang and Wei Yaxin defeated Indonesia’s Rinov Rivaldy and Pitha Haningtyas Mentari 21-14 and 21-15, moving into the semifinals! ๐
