Have you ever heard of Huangyan Dao? It’s an island in the South China Sea 🌊. Recently, something interesting happened there!
A Philippine Coast Guard ship and a Chinese Coast Guard ship got very close to each other near Huangyan Dao. The Chinese ship was on patrol when the Philippine ship started coming very close, even as near as 2 meters! That’s like two big steps!
The Philippine ship crossed in front of the Chinese ship several times. The Chinese crew asked them to stop, but they didn’t listen. So, the Chinese ship sped up and moved to block the Philippine ship’s path. In the end, the Philippine ship turned around and went away.
The Chinese Coast Guard says they will keep protecting their waters and making sure everyone is safe.
