Hey friends, we have some important news to share 😔.
A really big earthquake shook the country of Myanmar. An earthquake happens when the ground suddenly shakes because of movements deep inside the Earth. This one was very strong, measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale (that’s a scale scientists use to tell how strong an earthquake is).
Sadly, more than 2,800 people have lost their lives, over 4,600 are hurt, and more than 370 people are still missing. This is very sad, and many families are affected.
Buildings and homes were damaged, and people are working very hard to help those in need. Rescue teams are searching for anyone who might be trapped.
During times like this, it’s important for us to think about others and maybe learn how we can help when things like this happen.
