Race Against Time: Rescuers Save Lives After Myanmar Earthquake

Imagine the ground shaking and buildings trembling—this happened in central Myanmar on Friday at 12:50 p.m. when a powerful earthquake struck! 🌍 The earthquake was a magnitude 7.9, which is very strong.

Right after the earthquake, rescuers from China quickly jumped into action. 🚑 They sent teams to help their neighbors in Myanmar. These teams brought emergency supplies and used their skills to find and help people who were trapped.

But China wasn’t the only one helping out. Countries like Malaysia, Singapore, India, and New Zealand, along with the United Nations, also joined in the rescue efforts. It’s like when friends come together to help someone in need! 🤝

The first 72 hours after an earthquake are called the “golden window” because it’s the best time to find survivors. By Monday, the 72 hours were up, but rescuers didn’t give up. Chinese teams were able to rescue people who had been trapped for over 60 hours! That’s more than two days! ⏱️

Even though the golden window has closed, rescuers are still working hard to find and help more people. Their bravery and teamwork show how important it is to help others in times of need. 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️

Let’s keep the people of Myanmar in our thoughts and hope that more survivors are found soon.
