Hey friends! Have you heard about Xizang? It’s a region in southwest China, and something really important happened there 66 years ago! ποΈ
On March 28, 1959, the people of Xizang were freed from a very old system called feudal serfdom. This means that about one million people who were once serfs (like servants) became free! π
This big change is called the democratic reform, and it helped make life better for many people in Xizang. They could now make their own choices and have more opportunities. Isn’t that awesome? π
Every year on March 28, people in Xizang celebrate Serfs Emancipation Day to remember this special moment. There are grand celebrations and activities all over the region! π
Chinese President Xi Jinping has often talked about how important Xizang is and how much progress has been made there over the years. π
Let’s join in celebrating with our friends in Xizang! πβοΈ
