Honoring the Yellow Emperor Together π
Have you ever heard of the Yellow Emperor? In Chinese legends, he’s a super important ancestor, kind of like a great, great, great (many greats!) grandfather to many people in China. π²
This year, during the Qingming Festival (also known as Tomb-Sweeping Day), people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait are coming together to honor the Yellow Emperor. The Qingming Festival is a special time when families visit the graves of their ancestors to remember and respect them. π―οΈ
The celebrations will happen in Shaanxi and Henan provinces on the Chinese mainland. These ceremonies have been going on for a long, long time! They help keep Chinese traditions alive and make everyone feel proud of their shared heritage. π
But that’s not all! There’s also exciting news about a bridge called the Xiamen-Kinmen Bridge. It’s moving forward in construction! This bridge will connect people even more closely. π
People on both sides really want this bridge because it makes visiting each other easier and helps them feel more connected. It’s like building a giant friendship link over the water! π€
In recent years, the Chinese mainland has done many things to help the folks in Kinmen, an island near the coast. For example, they built a special pipeline to share water with Kinmen because they used to have water shortages. Since 2018, over 40 million tonnes of water have been sent to Kinmen! π°
These efforts show how working together can make life better for everyone. Isn’t it cool how people can come together to celebrate traditions and help each other out? π
