China Builds Super Ship That Can Carry 8,600 Cars! 🚢
Hey there! 🚗🚙 Did you know that the Chinese mainland just built a gigantic ship that can carry up to 8,600 cars at once? That’s like moving a whole town’s worth of cars in one go! 😲
On Thursday, the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) announced that they have delivered this amazing new ship. It’s a special kind of ship called a car carrier, which is designed to transport vehicles across the ocean.
The ship is about 200 meters long—that’s longer than two football fields! 🏈🏈 It’s also 38 meters wide. It runs on two types of fuel: fuel oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG), which is cleaner for the environment.
Inside the ship, there are 14 decks where cars, trucks, and buses can be parked. Imagine a giant floating parking garage! 🚢🅿️
The coolest part is that the ship was built in just 200 days, setting a new record in China for the fastest construction of a car carrier this big! 🏆
Li Zhizhong, the production director at CSSC’s Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, said, “With our advanced building technology and smart design, we were able to build the ship super fast. It’s energy-efficient and can carry many different types of vehicles.”
And guess what? They are already working on even bigger ships that can carry 9,000 and even 10,800 vehicles! 😮
This year, the shipbuilders plan to deliver 28 ships. So far, they’ve delivered seven new ships, which means they’re averaging one ship every 11 working days! That’s some speedy shipbuilding! ⚡
