Hey there! Did you know that China and Fiji have been friends for almost 50 years? 🌏 On Friday, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with Filimone Jitoko, the Speaker of Fiji’s Parliament, in Beijing to celebrate their friendship and talk about working together even more! 🎉
Fiji was one of the first Pacific Island countries to become friends with the Chinese mainland. Over the years, they’ve supported each other and worked together on lots of cool projects! 🤗
Vice President Han Zheng said that China wants to keep being good friends with Fiji. They want to trust each other, help each other out, and have fun celebrating their 50th anniversary of being pals! 🥳
Mr. Jitoko agreed and said that Fiji really appreciates all the big ideas and help from China. They want to work together on things like building new roads and schools (that’s called infrastructure!), helping people have better lives (that’s poverty reduction!), and making tourism even more fun! 🏗️🌴
Both leaders also want to encourage more visits and exchanges between the people of China and Fiji. Maybe one day, you could visit Fiji’s beautiful beaches or China’s amazing Great Wall! 🏖️🧱
