Hey everyone! π
Exciting news from Beijing! Liu Shaoang of China has won a bronze medal π₯ in the men’s 1,500 meters at the International Skating Union (ISU) World Short Track Championships!
Liu was the only Chinese skater in the final race. It was a thrilling competition! Canada’s William Dandjinou and Belgium’s Stijn Desmet took the lead in the last laps. Liu was in fourth place but didn’t give up!
In a surprising turn, the skater ahead of Liu, Jens van’t Wout from the Netherlands, was disqualified for breaking the rules. That bumped Liu up to third place! π
Liu said, “This is our first final here, and I was happy that we won bronze. But we will keep going, because what we really want is gold.”
There were other exciting races too! In the men’s 500 meters, Steven Dubois from Canada won gold π₯. In the women’s 3,000-meter relay, the Canadian team came out on top.
The championships are not over yet! There are still five more titles to be decided on Sunday. Stay tuned for more action! π
