Hey there, basketball fans! Guess what? The Shanxi Loongs just pulled off an amazing win against the Shandong Kylins! 🏀🔥
On Thursday night, in a super exciting game in Jinan, the Shanxi Loongs beat the Shandong Kylins 120-119. This was a big deal because Shandong had been winning at home for 11 games in a row! 😲
The game was close right from the start. At first, Shanxi was leading 7-1, but then Shandong’s player Jamar Gulley scored 9 points in a row! 😮 By the end of the first quarter, the score was tied at 26-26.
In the second quarter, Shanxi had a tough time and only scored 3 points in six minutes. Shandong took advantage and got ahead by more than 10 points. But Shanxi didn’t give up! Players Brandon Goodwin and Hamidou Diallo started driving towards the basket more, and Zhang Ning even made a four-point play (that’s when you score a 3-pointer and get fouled, then make the free throw)! 😃
By halftime, Shanxi was only behind by one point, 52-51.
After the break, Shanxi started making lots of three-point shots! Xing Zhiqiang joined in with Zhang and Goodwin, and soon Shanxi was leading 72-64. But Shandong wasn’t going to let them win easily. Dallas Moore and Jamar Gulley helped Shandong take back the lead, making it 119-118 with about 20 seconds left! 😱
With time running out, Shanxi needed a hero. Shandong was focusing on defending Goodwin and Zhang, so Jia Mingru got his chance! He caught the ball in the corner, faked out Marquese Chriss, and shot a long jumper… Swish! 🏀✨ Shanxi took the lead 120-119 with just 0.2 seconds left! That’s less than a blink of an eye! 😲
Shandong didn’t have enough time to score again, so Shanxi won the game! 🎉
In another close game that night, the Beikong Royal Fighters beat the Jiangsu Dragons 96-95. Liao Sanning scored 26 points off the bench to help his team win. Talk about an exciting night of basketball! 😃
