Hey there, skating fans! ⛸️ Guess what? After 20 years, the super cool ISU World Short Track Championships are back in Beijing! 🏅 From Friday to Sunday, 164 amazing skaters from 36 countries and regions will race at the Capital Indoor Stadium. How exciting is that? 🤩
ISU President Kim Jae-youl said, “Beijing has world-class venues, excellent organization, passionate fans, and reliable partners.” He added that they’re unveiling new branding for short track speed skating that shows how fast and exciting the sport is! 🏁💨
Last season, Chinese skaters did an awesome job, winning lots of medals! 🥇🥈🥉 They even won the men’s 500-meter, men’s 5,000-meter relay, and mixed relay right here in Beijing! Go team! 🇨🇳
Some of the top skaters like William Dandjinou from Canada and Kristen Santos-Griswold from the USA will be competing too! They both won big awards called the ISU Crystal Globe titles. 🌟 William said, “The World Championships is another opportunity to prove myself and do my best.” Kristen shared, “I had a lot of struggles, but I was able to bounce back each time.” How inspiring! 💪
