China Remembers Sun Yat-sen: 100 Years After His Passing
On Wednesday, a special ceremony was held in Beijing to remember Sun Yat-sen, a man known as the “Father of Modern China.” It’s been 100 years since he passed away, and people gathered to honor his memory. 🌟
The ceremony took place at Zhongshan Park, a beautiful place in the center of Beijing named after Sun himself. At 10:30 a.m., everyone stood quietly, bowed three times, and showed their respect in front of his statue. It was a moment of silence and reflection. 🤫
Many important groups took part in the event. Representatives from the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang (RCCK), the United Front Work Department, and the Beijing municipal government all came to pay their respects. They brought floral baskets to place at the foot of the statue. 💐
But who was Sun Yat-sen? 🤔
Sun Yat-sen was born in 1866 and became a key leader in China’s history. He played a major role in the 1911 Revolution, which helped to end over 2,000 years of feudal rule in China. Feudal rule is when kings and emperors have all the power, and Sun wanted to change that. He dreamed of a China that was strong and modern. 🏰➡️🏙️
Because of his efforts, China began a journey toward becoming the country it is today. People remember him as a great pioneer of China’s democratic revolution. His ideas and actions have inspired many, even 100 years after his death. 📖✨
Commemorating Sun Yat-sen helps us remember the importance of working toward a better future. It’s a reminder that one person’s vision can make a big difference in the world! 🌍❤️
