Hey sports fans! Have you heard the exciting news? Young gymnasts from China just shined bright at the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Artistic Gymnastics Apparatus World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan! 🇨🇳🇦🇿
They brought home three silver medals and one bronze medal. That’s four medals in total! 🥈🥈🥈🥉 Let’s meet these amazing athletes and see how they did it.
Meng Zhiwei Swings to Silver on the Rings 🔄
Meng Zhiwei, who’s 23 years old, competed in the men’s rings event. The rings are those two hoops gymnasts hold onto while performing cool moves in the air. He improved his performance from the preliminaries and scored 13.800 points in the final! That earned him the silver medal. 🥈 Great job, Meng!
The gold medal went to Nikita Simonov from Azerbaijan, and the bronze was won by Alex Diab from the United States. Way to go, athletes!
Huang Mingqi Vaults to Silver 🚀
Huang Mingqi was the best in the qualifiers for the men’s vault. The vault is where gymnasts run really fast and jump over a platform, doing flips in the air. In the finals, Huang scored 14.300 points, but just missed the gold by a tiny 0.05 points! 🥈 He took home the silver medal.
The gold was won by Nazar Chepurnyi from Ukraine, and the bronze went to Yahor Sharamkou from Belarus. So close, Huang!
Teenager Chu Yiming Balances to Silver and Floors It to Bronze! 🌟
Guess what? Chu Yiming is only 15 years old, and she’s already winning medals! In the women’s balance beam event, she performed an amazing routine with a difficulty value of 5.7. That means her moves were super hard! She scored 13.266 points and won the silver medal. 🥈
The gold medal went to Haruka Nakamura from Japan, and the bronze was won by Greta Mayer from Hungary.
But Chu wasn’t done yet! She also competed in the women’s floor exercise, where gymnasts dance and tumble across the floor. She earned the bronze medal with a score of 12.766 points! 🥉 Amazing work, Chu!
